"Kitty Hendrix has a truly American voice--full of energy and tough optimism."

           BP AudioFile Magazine

"Hendrix truly shines at capturing each character's quirky personality, and the subtle differences in their voices make it easy to follow along."

                 E.P. AudioFile Magazine

Definitely in the top five of the best books I've ever listened to. Filled with heartbreak and with joy. And the narrator did it great justice.

"With vocal naturalism and a wonderful feel for the author's prose, narrator Kitty Hendrix makes this first masterwork sound as fresh and real as the day it was published in October 1920."

                BP AudioFile Magazine

"Hendrix's voice is mellow enough to let the text remain central... (Her) sensitive delivery invites thoughts about the way the family handles pressure from without--and from within--as well as the lingering questions of difference." M.P.P.  AudioFile Magazine

"Kitty Hendrix is a really good narrator!"  Jo Reed  Behind the Mic
