"With vocal naturalism and a wonderful feel for the author's prose, narrator Kitty Hendrix makes this first masterwork sound as fresh and real as the day it was published in October 1920."

                 AudioFile Magazine

"Kitty Hendrix has a truly American voice--full of energy and tough optimism."

            AudioFile Magazine

"Hendrix's voice is mellow enough to let the text remain central... (Her) sensitive delivery invites thoughts about the way the family handles pressure from without--and from within--as well as the lingering questions of difference."

"Kitty Hendrix is one of those narrators who adds to the quality of the work, as she captures each character's personality while not distracting from the central text. She truly brings the story to life."

Kitty Hendrix narrates, supplying Wharton with a perfectly pitched voice of privilege.
                    Library Journal

"Hendrix truly shines at capturing each character's quirky personality, and the subtle differences in their voices make it easy to follow along."

"Kitty Hendrix is a really good narrator!"   Jo Reed  "Behind the Mic"

About Me...

I'm a storyteller at heart—whether I'm behind a mic, on stage, or designing  just about anything from interiors to gardens. My career has taken me from my early days performing along California’s coast to sharing stages with comedy legends in NYC, and now to voicing characters in over 100 audiobooks (and counting). I started acting and singing at 12 in Carmel Valley, California. Eventually, I moved to New York, where I opened as a singer for icons like Rodney Dangerfield, Larry David, and Richard Pryor. Singing with Elly Stone at Carnegie Hall and The Bottom Line taught me how to bring "focus and tone" to everything I do.

These days, I spend a lot of time in the recording booth, narrating stories across genres. I’ve been honored with multiple Earphones Awards and an Audie Award nomination. I love creating voices that feel lived- in and real.
